Main Functions

Create 2D/3D models and drawings to assist Engineers in developing product designs

Process engineering changes and drawing updates

Take measurements from prototypes and create/modify engineering CAD files

Create product concept views to support technical proposals.

 

This position requires access to information controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), the successful candidate must be a "U.S. person" as defined in the ITAR and EAR (which generally means (i) be a citizen or national of the United States; or (ii) be a lawful permanent resident of the United States; or (iii) have been admitted to the United States as a refugee, or have been granted asylum, as specified under applicable law.

 

Typical Duties
1. Work with CAD Software such as AutoCAD and Solidworks to create/modify files.

2. Coordinates the collection of data and incorporates such information into drawings.

3. Creates CAD files for use on various CNC production and inspection equipment.

4. Proficiency in 2D CAD, GD&T skills such as: sheet set-up, scaling, dimensioning, layering, x-references, viewports, and the ability to translate design details.

 

Required Skills
Able to understand and interpret engineering terminology

Proficiency in reading technical drawings

Intellectual creativity

Customer communication (internal and external) and interpersonal skills

Ability to work well on a team

Proficiency in Microsoft Suite – Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Creating 2D CAD, Gerber files

Experience with CAD/CAM Software

 

Preferred Skills
Experience with Configuration Management & Document Control

Experience working in an ISO 9001:2008 with design environment

Excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively

Knowledge of file conversion for import and export

Knowledge of file conversion from CAD files to laser and/or CNC programming files

 

Education Requirements
High School, or graduation from a certified technical school.

 

Experience Requirements
3 years minimum CAD drafting experience

 

Physical Requirements
Sitting/Walking/Standing

Minimum 10 lb lifting requirement
